India Introduces Digital Arrival Card from October 1, 2025 – A Hassle-Free Experience for Foreign Patients
Starting October 1, 2025, international travelers arriving in India will experience a smoother and faster entry process. The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Government of India, has announced that the physical paper arrival card will be completely replaced by a new Digital Indian Arrival Card.
This step is designed to save time, reduce queues, and make the immigration process more convenient—especially important for patients and their families traveling to India for medical treatment.
Until now, foreigners arriving in India had to fill out a paper arrival card at the airport. This included details like name, nationality, passport number, flight details, and address in India.
From October 1, 2025, this system will move online. Travelers will now submit their arrival information digitally through the official portal before boarding their flight.

When filling out the Digital Arrival Card, you will need:
Full name (as in passport)
Nationality
Passport number and validity
Visa details (Medical Visa / Attendant Visa, etc.)
Flight number and date of arrival
Address in India (Take assistance from Aavya Health for this – hospital, hotel, or guest house where you will stay)
Contact number in India (for patients, usually hospital/Aavya Health coordinator)
1. Visit the Official Portal https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/earrival/
2. Fill in all the details online before your departure.
3. Submit the form and download confirmation.
4. Show confirmation (digital or printed copy) at the immigration counter after landing in India.
